The racing order for two preliminary heats, each consisting of six creators, will be determined by time trials to be held on Thursday, September 30. Following the prelims, the top three finishers of each race will advance to the finals. An additional sudden death race for the bottom six creators will be held, with the top two finishers also advancing to the finals. The Broadcast Boys, House of Highlights’ viral TikTok duo, will return as hosts for the event, sharing commentary and interviewing participants throughout the competition.

“The HoH Showdown has fast become a cornerstone franchise for the House of Highlights brand. It harnesses the power and connection of individual creator networks and repays their partnership by providing them with a platform to live, premium content opportunities delivered by the No. 1 destination for Gen Z sports fans,” said Doug Bernstein, General Manager of House of Highlights. “It’s a win-win for both parties and is raising the bar for creativity in the digital media space.”

House of Highlights Showdown: Go-Kart Grand Prix delivered by Pizza Hut will be supported across House of Highlights social channels and Bleacher Report’s national channel to cover every moment of the action with additional live stream coverage available on the B/R app. House of Highlights is also dropping a limited-edition apparel collection centered around the 2021 Go-Kart Grand Prix event at the House of Highlights shop.

“Nothing goes better together than watching your favorite sport while enjoying your favorite pizza, which is why Pizza Hut continues to have a strong presence among some of America’s biggest sporting events,” said Lindsay Morgan, chief marketing officer, Pizza Hut. “We are proud to present our second House of Highlights Showdown event with a new digital-forward platform that will allow us to continue reaching the next generation of fans.”

The House of Highlights Showdown franchise first debuted in association with Turner Sports’ presentation of Capital One’s The Match: Champions for Change, then returned as a lead-in to 2021 NBA All-Star in Atlanta and tripled down as a dodgeball tournament this past June. The concept takes top social media creators and puts them in quick-hitting competitions against one another in a format that caters to a digital-first audience.

Its last installment, the House of Highlights Showdown: Dodgeball Tourney presented by Pizza Hut generated over 163,000 concurrent viewers and 7,100 live comments per minute, with 82% of the audience within the coveted Under 34 demographic. Most notably, the live event trended No. 1 globally on YouTube for over 24 hours, which registered it as the most watched live stream event in House of Highlights and Bleacher Report history. The creators participating in this latest iteration have a collective reach of more than 45 million followers, casting a wide net across the digital landscape.
