HBO Documentary News Series AXIOS Continues November 21

The Emmy®-winning series AXIOS on HBO continues with a new episode SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 21 (6:00-6:30 p.m. ET/PT). The sharp and insightful news-making series features thought-provoking interviews with top leaders from the worlds of politics, tech, media, science, and business. Directed and produced by Emmy® winners Matthew O’Neill and Perri Peltz, the series features Axios’ signature Smart Brevity® analysis, documentary-style reporting, and in-depth conversations on the topics and trends shaping the globe.

The series will air on HBO and be available to stream on HBO Max

This week’s episode features the following segments: 

  • U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), a member of “The Squad,” sits down with Axios national political correspondent Jonathan Swan moments after she voted to pass the Build Back Better Act to discuss her hopes for immigration reform, the future of the filibuster, and the Democratic Party.
  • Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D–NY) joins Axios political reporter Alexi McCammond in Washington D.C. to talk about the Build Back Better Act, divisions within the Democratic Party, his future role in the House and the 2022 midterm elections. 
  • Flexport CEO, Ryan Petersen travels with Axios business editor Dan Primack to survey the backlog of ships outside the Port of Los Angeles ahead of the holiday season. They discuss the port backlog causing supply-chain bottlenecks and how its disruption is impacting families and businesses across the United States.
  • Upside Foods CEO, Uma Valeti gives Axios chief technology correspondent Ina Fried a tour of the company's new lab-grown meat production facility in Emeryville, CA. They discuss how Upside Foods, one of the first cultivated meat companies in the world, plans to change the meat industry and how lab-grown meat could change the food industry.
