  • March Madness – Hill has called the Final Four National Semifinals and NCAA Championship Game since 2015, and famously set up Villanova’s buzzer beating shot to win the title in 2016.
  • NBA TV – Hill has worked as an analyst for NBA TV’s studio shows, including GameTime, and provides game commentary as part of the network’s Center Court game package during the 2020-21 season.

Playing Career

  • Hall of Fame career – Hill was inducted into The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018.  During his 19-year NBA career, Hill played for the Detroit Pistons (1994-2000), Orlando Magic (2000-07), Phoenix Suns (2007-12) and Los Angeles Clippers (2012-13).
  • More Awards – During the 2011-12 NBA season, The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame named Hill the winner of the Mannie Jackson – Basketball’s Human Spirit Award. In 2010, Hill became the first player to receive the NBA Sportsmanship Award a record three times.
  • All-Star – Hill was a seven-time NBA All-Star, playing for the Eastern-Conference All-Star team six times with the Detroit Pistons and once with the Orlando Magic.
  • Dream Team II – Hill was a member of the gold medal winning Dream Team, representing Team USA at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
  • Co-Rookie of the Year – In his first season (1993-94), Hill became the first Pistons rookie since Isiah Thomas to score 1000 points and shared NBA Rookie of the Year Award honors with Jason Kidd of the Dallas Mavericks.
  • Lottery Pick – After graduating from Duke, Hill was the third overall pick by the Detroit Pistons in the 1994 NBA draft.
  • College Days – Hill graduated from Duke University with a double major in history and political science, where he led Duke University to back-to-back NCAA championships his freshman and sophomore years (1991 and 1992).  He was inducted to the Duke Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2016.

  • Family – Hill lives in Orlando with his wife, Tamia, a 7-time Grammy-nominated singer, and their two daughters.
  • Vice Chair of the Board – Hill also serves as Vice Chair of the Board for the Atlanta Hawks, a role he has been in since 2015.
  • Gerald Ford Award – Grant was named the 2017 recipient of the NCAA President’s Gerald R. Ford Award, recognizing his significant leadership as an advocate for college sports.
  • Hall of Fame B.o.G. – In 2011, the Basketball Hall of Fame elected Hill to serve as one of the 22 members of the Board of Governors, making Hill the first and only active player to ever serve on the Board.
