NBA TV will premiere an hour-long special, Basketball Stories: Reign Man & The Glove, featuring former Seattle SuperSonics teammates Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton on Wednesday Dec. 16, at 8 p.m. ET.
The latest Basketball Stories retrospective looks back at the chemistry between Kemp and Payton, and how the iconic duo wowed NBA fans in the 1990s with their remarkable displays of alley-oops, dunks and defense.
The hour-long conversation covers their successful rise in the Western Conference, the whirlwind season that led them to their classic meeting against the Chicago Bulls in the 1996 NBA Finals and their lasting legacy.
The special will re-air on Wednesday night at 11:30 p.m., following NBA TV's coverage of the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Phoenix Suns preseason game at 9 p.m.
Launched one year ago, NBA TV's Basketball Stories storytelling franchise has included Decade to Remember, the 1988 All-Star Dunk Contest and most recently, Rip City Revival, a one-hour documentary on the Portland Trail Blazers. The series will continue this season with a look back at the standout 1996 NBA Draft.
On-demand programming, including the Basketball Stories series, is also available directly to consumers through NBA.com and the NBA App.
