 “WarnerMedia’s Artist Studio Where Content Innovation Happens” Slate Includes 2021 Oscar-Nominated Short “White Eye” and 40 Additional Projects

LOS ANGELES – WarnerMedia OneFifty, WarnerMedia’s content innovation hub, today announced the launch of its redesigned platform onefifty.com, content acquisitions and project slate. Inspired by the nearly 100-year tradition of innovation at the company, WarnerMedia OneFifty endeavors to revolutionize the content development process, while serving as a natural complement to the industry-leading work of WarnerMedia and its premier entertainment brands.

WarnerMedia OneFifty invests in bold, poignant, and innovative storytelling, as well as artists with unique voices and powerful perspectives. The hub leverages the company’s arts and culture portfolio, social impact partners, labs and incubation programs as natural connection points. It also seeks to uncover ideas and stories using new access points for creativity. Thecreators’ boundaries are challenged in all forms of media, including features, series, digital, animation, documentary, interactive, VR/AR, music, transmedia, experimental, immersive, and beyond.

Some key features of the relaunched platform and website onefifty.com include an audio account of the “150 Origin Story,” an inspirational “Culture” section, a list of “Co-Conspirators” who serve as key sources for content and artists, and the “Content” section where projects, stories, and artists are showcased.  

As a brief overview of the scope of content innovation within WarnerMedia OneFifty, below are some of the current highlighted artists and their projects:

White Eye by Tomer Shushan

2021 Oscar nominee for “Best Live-Action Short Film”,to premiere on HBO Max later this month,about a man who accuses a kitchen worker of stealing his bike and unwittingly sets off a chain of events that force him to evaluate the prejudiced lens through which he views the world. This thought-provoking drama won “Best Short” at SXSW, “Best Narrative Short” at Urbanworld, and showcased at many other festivals.

Darween by Jordan Hendrickson

Darween is a fun adult buddy cop series set in the crime- and drug-infested streets of Florida in the late 1980s. Produced by Daryl Sledge and starring Jeremy Sisto, this animated series is inspired by “odd couple-type” pairings seen in the television shows Miami Viceand Invader Zim.

Something in The Trees by Alfonso Johnson

A short documentary that examines the circumstances surrounding the death of Dominique Alexander, a 27-year-old Bronx native who was found hanging from a tree in the summer of 2020.

Unsent by Brittany Ballard and Hanna Bowens

A ground-breaking anthology TV series based on real unsent messages, letters, texts, and emails shared on stage at the Unsentlive storytelling show.

Girl Townby Haroula Rose

Inspired by the graphic novel of the same name, this series explores robot lovers, lonely carnivals, longings to be astronauts, and other tales of young adulthood, and the search for connection.

The Extra-Ordinaries by Diego Salazar Castro

The Other Names by Muta’Ali

A single-to-camera testimonial given by the parents of a victim of deadly police brutality provides the plot of each short in this series. Artwork serves as connective tissue across various accounts and recollections.

In addition to the projects above, there is a remaining slate of creativity that will be showcased throughout the year.
