NBA TV to Tip Off Holidays with Eight Games in Three Nights

NBA TV will tip off its 2020-21 regular season schedule with eight star-studded matchups in three nights featuring LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant, James Harden and Luka Doncic starting on Saturday, Dec. 26.

The network’s first night of back-to-back tripleheaders this holiday season will include two of the NBA’s bright young playmakers – Ja Morant and Trae Young – facing off when the Memphis Grizzlies host the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday, Dec. 26, at 5 p.m. ET. NBA TV Saturday Night presented by State Farm coverage will continue with the Philadelphia 76ers and Joel Embiid visiting the New York Knicks and 2020 NBA first-round pick Obi Toppin at 7:30 p.m., followed by a showdown between the new-look Houston Rockets with Harden and John Wall visiting the Portland Trail Blazers and Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum at 10 p.m.

A second straight tripleheader – on Sunday, Dec. 27 – will start with the LA Clippers and Leonard hosting the Dallas Mavericks and Doncic in a blockbuster Western Conference matchup at 3:30 p.m. The night’s action will continue with the Brooklyn Nets and Durant visiting the Charlotte Hornets and LaMelo Ball at 7 p.m., before wrapping up with the defending NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers and James hosting the Minnesota Timberwolves and Karl-Anthony Towns at 9:30 p.m.

The first NBA TV Center Court doubleheader of the season – Monday, Dec. 28 – will feature the Trail Blazers at Lakers at 10 p.m. with Brian Anderson (play-by-play) and Grant Hill (analyst). Earlier in the night, the Grizzlies will face the Nets at 7:30 p.m.

This season, NBA TV will televise 107 live games with the league’s biggest stars in action, including a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day doubleheader on Monday, January 18. The schedule is being released in two segments, starting with the first 61 live game telecasts. The schedule for the second half of the season will be released at a later date.

NBA GameTime – the network’s signature studio show featuring a deep rotation of top basketball commentators – will provide nightly highlights, news and analysis surrounding the leading storylines from around the NBA all season long. Popular analyst franchises during the show will include Shaquille O’Neal’s Diesel’s Dunks, Isiah on Point with Isiah Thomas and Steve Smith’s Smitty’s Under the Rim.

NBA TV’s fast-paced NBA CrunchTime coverage will return on Wednesday, Dec. 23, at 9:45 p.m. with live “look-ins” of game action throughout the night. Primarily airing Wednesdays and Fridays, the season-long show will cover all the excitement around the league with commentators guiding fans through down-to-the-wire finishes, game-winners and defining moments in real time.
